What is policy management

We will be covering what Policy management is and why it is such a problem for some organisations. We will cover how this pain point can be solved with innovate software (hint hint).

So first of what is policy management and why should I care about it?

Policy management is an all encompassing process which involves the creating, communication, and maintenance of policies and procedures across an organisation. 

Based on the definition above an effective management solution ensures policies are created easily, visible and accessible to intended recipients across the organisation. An important but overlooked aspect of policy mangement is the c word compliance, some organisations maintain policies because they have to as their industry dictates it. These policies and procedures can quickly go out of date, systems must be in place to maintain an expiry log across documents and ensure they are updated in time.

Policy management in some colleges is done using spreadsheets and other equally inefficient systems. Some colleges have have 100s of procedures and policies, which all need to be maintained and collaborated on with a number of team members.
